We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician at our Macclesfield campus, where you'll work across multiple Aseptic manufacture assets at different lifecycle stages. This role offers great challenges and rewards, providing training and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Accountabilities

As an Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering and sustaining business objectives by providing engineering expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation areas. You will maintain equipment and systems, resolve problems, and implement improvements while ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), SHE (Safety, Health & Environment), and Financial requirements.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining pharmaceutical assets and processes in controlled clean environments, responding promptly to breakdowns and customer requests, and driving continuous improvement activities using lean manufacturing tools. You'll also collaborate with project teams to bring new equipment from inception to beneficial operation.

The role incorporates the following additional responsibilities:

Manufacture

Based at an existing manufacture facility which is expanding and looking to develop manufacture processes and improve plant standards and reliability through continuous improvement ensuring production output for the future.

Project

As part of a project commissioning team you'll work alongside the equipment manufacturers to develop and commission new facility systems as part of an ongoing refurbishment project. This will include cross team working and collaboration to ensure improvements are delivered effectively and to a high standard. Project responsibilities are to include involvement in factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, documentation/ procedure authoring and qualification.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering field
  • Experience in Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation subject areas (Maintenance and Fault Finding)

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience of working with automated machinery
  • Operating knowledge of procedures and compliance with GMP & SHE requirements
  • Familiar with CMMS (SAP PM) Knowledge of IT systems where appropriate e.g. Drawing/Document Management Systems, Microsoft office, Building Management Systems, PCs, PLCs
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis and of Continuous Improvement
  • Knowledge of Project / Change management

This position is internally aligned to SA91 Grade 10.
