Government Affairs & Policy Lead, Egypt

Introduction to the role:

The Government Affairs and Policy Lead will develop and execute strategies to advance the company’s interests with government agencies, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to unlock patient access to care for therapy areas . This role focuses on shaping health policy, facilitating patient access to care, and ensuring the company’s regulatory and policy positions are well-represented at national and regional levels.

Accountabilities:

• Align with CFT / regional, Intl CA teams to build TA related policy plans to support Health Equity projects for AstraZeneca future TA
• Collaborate with CFT to lead TA campaigns and major milestone activities in alignment with policy change goals Liaise with different departments to ensure strategic positioning of AstraZeneca's narrative.
• Facilitate development of funding policy in alignment with reimbursement objectives
• Develop and implement strategies for sustainability and resilience
• Promote investment opportunities and partnerships
• Position AstraZeneca as a preferred partner for governmental collaboration beyond therapy areas
• Lead diplomacy and development initiatives that extend beyond traditional pharmaceutical offerings
• Foster collaboration with NGOs and support government technology initiatives
• Organize and participate in corporate events such as WHA, BOAO, and PHDC

Essential Skills / Experience:

• 7+ years of proven experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field
• Public Policy / Health Policy education or expertise
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage complex projects and partnerships
• Experience in liaising with government bodies and NGOs
