Role Summary
The Franchise Lead (FL) Specialty Care in CVRM plays a key role in managing and directing commercial activities for AstraZeneca’s cardiovascular renal and metabolic portfolio. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at maximizing the performance of the franchise within the market. The FL is expected to drive strategic leadership, build high performing teams, challenge the status-quo, be forward looking, prioritize resources to deliver positive impact, lead cross-functional collaboration and excel in stakeholder management internally and externally.

Responsibilities (to include key result areas, specific accountabilities, tasks, etc.)
• Accountable for all aspects of commercial activities, inclusive of insight-driven marketing strategy/execution and field team promotion for your brand/TA that meet brand objectives and improve the patient experience
• Accountable for the business performance of your brand/TA as per Phased Budget target with full P&L responsibility and are responsible for ensuring key financial and brand metrics are met

• Advocate for and lead the brands amongst office and field colleagues as well as external customers to ensure the Brand Plans deliver essential short term growth and long term brand success

• Align the global strategic brand plans with local customer and market insights in order to develop tailored and successful local brand strategy, brand messages and tactical plans
• Maximise the full use of all customer communication channels by developing brand materials (digital/print) and activities through cross-functional collaboration

• Continuously seek to understand and embed customer/market insights into brand activities by synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information from various sources (e.g. field insights, market research…)
• Be the product, competitor and market expert of assigned brands
• Pro-actively adapt the Brand Plans with the continuously changing environment to maximise brand potential
• Line manage the brand marketing team, providing coaching, guidance and overseeing development
• Liaise closely with global and regional teams to align strategies, insights and key activities
• Lead and align the Cross-functional Brand Team
• Lead training and development for field force and other customer facing roles on brand information
• Work closely with marketing and sales in other therapy areas with overlapping customers to ensure synergies and alignment in field activities
• Line manage the field sales team and/or Area Sales Managers, providing in-field coaching, helping in setting targets, individual objectives and working on individual development plans
• Build and maintain a strong network of Key External Experts in the therapy area(s) as the external face of the brand(s), developing numerous privileged relationships
• Act as a career mentor for key talent within your respective business area and are responsible for building, inspiring and retaining a high-performing team
• Build and maintain a strong network in the field

• Responsible for budget of assigned brand(s)
• Ensure compliance with external regulations and AZ Policies and Standards with special emphasis on Code of Conduct, Ethical Interaction Policy and Standards, Privacy and Procurement

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Master’s Degree in Scientific Field, marketing or related
• Languages: Trilingual English, French, Dutch
• Experience managing complex projects
• ≥5 years proven marketing and sales experience
• Experience in KAM sales approaches
• Track record of achieving/exceeding sales targets

Desirable

• Sales Leadership experience
• Understanding of development and commercialization of pharmaceuticals in Belux
• Experience in specialty care
• Experience in Insight/Market Research
• Advanced degree/PhD/MBA
