Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics

Are you ready to deliver the value and potential of our groundbreaking pipeline? As the Market Analytics Senior Manager, US Oncology, you will take leadof selectmarketing analytics within the US Oncology portfolio. Your role will be pivotal in driving commercial efficiency, advancing marketing excellence, improving our inline assets and accelerating new launches. You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Omnichannel, Data Science, Market Research, Forecasting, Finance, Market Access, and Data Management teams to deliver innovative insights and optimizebrand strategies and investment decisions.

Accountabilities:

This individual will synthesize complex data to derive critical insights for brand performance, strategy effectiveness, and underlying drivers to inform commercial strategic decision-making. Your expertise managing large-scale datasets and conducting sophisticated quantitative data analysis enables you to lead the design, execution, and delivery of actionable recommendations through compelling storytelling and impactful data visualization.

You will:

  • Establish and operationalize a variety of marketing analytics capabilities, including promotional mix, ROI, and other analyses.

  • Aid omnichannel and brand marketing teams in defining campaign measurement criteria, assessing data requirements, and measurement feasibility.

  • Enable performance tracking for standard KPIs (e.g., impressions, clicks, open rates, NPS at the campaign level) to provide a tactical view of executional performance.

  • Develop and operationalize ROI/attribution methodologies across marketing channels (e.g., Promo Mix modeling, A/B testing, Customer Lifetime Value) to optimize investment strategies.

  • Analyze omnichannel campaign and program data to identify areas of improvement, delivering actionable insights to enhance the HCP experience and optimize channel performance (e.g., customer journey analytics such as prescriber behaviors and channel interactions).

  • Partner with GCO to internalize and scale marketing analytics capabilities, optimize vendor strategies, and mentor junior analytics team members.

  • Collaborate with Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI) teams to pull forward and automate programs (e.g., recommender models, promotional mix modeling).

Your leadership experience enables you to efficiently scope, prioritize, manage, and negotiate projects across the AZ oncology portfolio. You will lead highly complex projects, often independently, while providing technical mentorship and business translation support to junior Analytics Managers. You will consistently drive innovation in analytics approaches and promote best practices across the broader organization.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, Forecasting & Performance, and sits within the Analytics, Data & Reporting function of US Oncology’s Oncology Business Excellence department, an inclusive and collaborative team that enables strategic commercial decision-making through objective, data-driven insight generation.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a quantitative field.

  • 3+ years of experience at a pharmaceutical/biotechnology manufacturer or working in the biopharmaceutical industry.

  • 3+ years of analytics, statistics, or data science experience.

  • Direct experience implementing BI visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy, etc.).

  • Deep marketing analytics experience, including omnichannel and campaign analytics, preferably including experience outside of pharma.

  • Specialized, advanced technical skills (e.g., coding proficiency in Python or R for marketing analytics use cases).

  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and overseeing project execution.

  • Strong business acumen, including understanding of marketing data KPIs and investment optimization strategies.

  • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex technical analyses into clear, actionable business insights.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Advanced quantitative or marketing analytics degree preferred.

  • Expertise in at least one statistical/data analysis language (Python or R).

  • Experience working in Oncology.

  • Experience with attribution modeling, customer journey analytics, and recommender systems.

  • Project/program management expertise with demonstrated success leading complex initiatives across commercial and technical teams.

The Sr. Manager, Commercial Analytics, US Oncology drives commercial analytics for key brands and tumors within the US Oncology portfolio. As a valued partner to the business, you will collaborate with marketing & sales partners to identify key business questions and address with innovative, analytical approaches to improve the lives of patients and enhance commercial effectiveness. 

Working collaboratively with Insights, Advanced Analytics, Forecasting, Finance, Market Access and Data Management, you will lead the design and delivery of outstanding analysis and synthesis of data to derive critical insights into brand performance & underlying drivers to advise commercial strategic decision-making. With your experience leading large-scale datasets and conducting sophisticated quantitative data analysis, you will drive the collection, interpretation and synthesis of a variety of healthcare and performance data by using pioneering analytical tools and resources to deliver actionable recommendations in support of marketing and customer-facing teams to drive business growth. 

With your project management experience and leadership demeanor, you will efficiently triage execution of key projects to analytics resources to ensure impactful delivery of business results, optimizing execution across key vendor partners and elevating team members’ output. 

Your eye for business and curiosity will allow you to develop a deep knowledge of brands, customers and market environment to be a proactive, strategic partner. In addition, your ability to fluidly connect the dots between strategy and technical analysis enables you to synthesize business implications. Your experience in communicating to collaborators will allow you to deliver compelling, succinct storytelling and impactful data visualization to influence senior leadership with confidence. 

This highly consultative role reports to the Senior Director, Commercial Analytics and Forecasting. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead objective quantitative analysis and synthesis of key insights across different data sources to deliver actionable recommendations in support of critical business workstreams 

  • Serve as an expert resource on the scope, interpretation, and nuances of internal secondary data, particularly medical and pharmacy claims, with the ability to retrieve, organize and analyze large datasets as needed 

  • Create insightful reports and compelling presentations that clearly and succinctly highlight the actionable insights combined with business implications/strategic & tactical options 

  • Identify business needs proactively through observed data trends and build research/analysis with foresight as a trusted business partner 

  • Collaborate cross functionally with customer facing teams, internal insight colleagues, data management, and finance to prioritize projects and systematically address business questions 

  • Develop analytics plans that focus resources and drive business growth in consultation with key business partners 

  • Be responsible for and optimize outsourced vendor partners and consultants to deliver executional excellence 

  • Performance/Metric development, tracking, and cross-brand best practice sharing, including identifying & driving reporting efficiencies and automations to ensure team members can invest time in addressing high-value business questions 

  • Provide methodological support and guidance across various workstreams as needed, building the skills of teammates and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement 

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • Proven experience in insights, commercial analytics or data science roles 

  • Ability to clean, wrangle, and transform large, complex data sources, using fit-for-purpose data analysis techniques to generate robust insights 

  • Strong analytics capability, critical thinking and discernment to understand and interpret ambiguous information from multiple sources, stitching together findings into a clear narrative for business users 

  • Good presentation skills with the ability to explain concepts or plans in a simple concise manner 

  • Ability to lead without authority 

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with customers and impactfully collaborate across groups of a diverse set of backgrounds and skills 

  • Ability to provide informational and analytical support for leadership in a timely and effective manner through seamless integration with other members of Insights and Analytics 

  • Comfort with ambiguity with the ability to challenge traditional thinking to solve problems 

  • Strong familiarity with secondary patient-level data sources (IQVIA, Symphony, Flatiron, etc.) 

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Excel, PowerPoint 

Desired Experience:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Statistics, Engineering, or Economics) 

  • Pharmaceutical industry, management consulting experience, or equivalent analytic experience at academic settings, ideally in oncology 

  • Hands-on experience to manipulate secondary patient-level data sources (claims and Electronic health record data) to extract detailed patient and physician information or experience in guiding analytic projects using such data 

  • Experience in presenting to large teams with senior members 

  • Familiarity with BI visualization tools (Qlik, MicroStrategy, etc.) 

  • Project / Program management expertise 

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $138,296- $207,444. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
