The Insights Analyst will direct the preparation of data driven insights for business decision makers to help develop business intelligence, optimise efficiency and/or predict business outcomes. The role will drive the analysis of data to support the business processes they are enabling (e.g. Supply Chain, manufacturing, Quality, etc.) and through analysis specify reports and data visualisations (e.g., charts, dashboards, heat maps) to aid in data storytelling within defined project scope. The role employs the use of dedicated business intelligence applications and may also use analytical software such as R, Python, Dataiku and others. They may build and maintain exploratory and predictive analytics statistical models for ongoing and ad hoc review and analysis of data.
What you'll do
Be visible on internal social media promoting analytics, showcasing benefits and driving adoption of the AZ analytics platforms.
Develop, implement and support analytical and data visualisation solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for insights in business application areas within defined project scope.
Build and manage effective relationships within the business to ensure utilisation and value of information resources and services. Clearly and objectively communicate results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations
Advise on exploratory, descriptive and predictive data analytics to a variety of projects and shape delivery of solutions that drive business value
Develop and apply ongoing knowledge and awareness in trends, standard methodology and new developments in analytics to develop solutions
Develop and input into data and analytics strategies
Review and develop working practices to ensure that work is delivered to robust quality standards within defined scope
Deliver training and advice to collaborators on efficient use of key data and analysis
Essential for the role
Demonstrated skills and experience of promoting and marketing of previous data analytic and visualisation projects ideally via videos and social media.
Good understanding of at least one business area from either Supply Chain or manufacturing
Demonstrates previous experience in bridging the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data driven recommendations and reports to the business.
Familiarity with visualisation tools and database systems, technical minded and self driven to learn AZ standard tooling.
Senior business engagement experience
Experience of defining data and analytics strategies
Advanced ability to draw conclusions from data and communicate in a succinct fashion to the business.
Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills
Bachelors Degree in relevant field or equivalent years of experience
Desirable for the role
Masters degree in data & Analytics, mathematics, computer science, statistics or a related quantitative field.
Comfortable working in high performance computing or cloud environment
Experience in life sciences and healthcare
Knowledge of Hadoop, apache spark, R, big data technologies
Knowledge of database and visualisation tools, ideally Qliksense, PowerBI, Python or SQL
