The Global Commercial IO Franchise Team within the Oncology Business Unit, has an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Global Commercial Director. In this pivotal role, you will have the chance to shape and launch a groundbreaking class of medicine, revolutionizing breast cancer care across multiple indications globally. Your contributions will be integral to our mission of transforming care for cancer patients worldwide.

What You'll Do:

  • Leading the cross-functional team to develop and deliver a clear and compelling global brand strategy and operational plan in Breast Cancer with our alliance partner, Daiichi Sankyo

  • Ensuring country launch readiness and achieving launch excellence in collaboration with regions and major markets.

  • Ensuring a detailed understanding of country performance, especially post-launch, to facilitate the sharing of insights globally and to revise global strategies and deliverables as needed.

  • Leading an effective global brand team by incorporating the expertise from all functions and regions to improve the success of the medicine

  • Providing strong commercial input to the global product team to shape scenario planning, development plans, and key investment decisions.

  • Ensuring effective cross-functional execution of the global operational plan

  • In partnership with the global analytics and insights team, setting the global ambition for the brand within Breast Cancer across all indications and ensuring clarity for country forecasts and financial planning

  • Providing robust commercial insights into the Breast Cancer tumour strategy to support the broader AstraZeneca business.

  • In collaboration with cross-functional team members, ensure the development of a clear and compelling pricing and market access strategy, diagnostics strategy, and medical plan.

  • Track and manage budget targets, ensuring efficient use of resources.

  • Lead and encourage a matrixed team, fostering an environment of collaboration and high performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business or life sciences.

  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical development and commercialization ideally within oncology.

  • Consistent track record in pre-launch and launch excellence within Commercial roles.

  • Strong ability to generate customer insights and apply them to build impactful brand strategies.

  • Proven ability to lead complex and ambiguous projects with agility, autonomy and a strategic approach.

  • Effective analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with proficiency in using insights to drive brand success.

  • Excellent collaboration and partner engagement skills, with the capacity to work across scientific and commercial teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field.

  • Sales or customer-facing experience.

  • Experience in both market and global commercial organizations.

  • Management experience leading diverse teams.

  • Strong business acumen and ethical standards, capable of influencing stakeholders and driving performance.

This position can be based at our Gaithersburg, MD campus (headquarters for the US Oncology and the global Oncology Business Unit) or at our Cambridge, UK headquarters. The annual base pay for this position ranges from $229,303.20 - 343,954.80 USD. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
