Role Summary:

As the Oncology Diagnostics Manager (ODM) for the Washington DC territory (covers DC, OH, WV), you will leverage your clinical diagnostic knowledge and experience in order to make a meaningful impact on patient care with a global pharmaceutical company. The ODM works to ensure access to timely and guideline-based patient identification practices (staging and/or testing)/ An important element of this role is to work with customers across the multidisciplinary team to achieve standardization of guideline-based patient identification practices across a health system. The ODM will work collaboratively across all members of the cross-functional customer facing team (both commercial and medical) to develop and implement strategic plans to assist customers in solving challenges and barriers to access of guideline-based patient identification practices.


  • Identify and map patient identification practices used across a customer’s health system in order to identify gaps, challenges or barriers to appropriate guideline-based patient care
  • Identify and develop relationships with scientific experts, clinical testing decision makers, anatomical and molecular pathologists, tissue takers, genetic counselors, administrators, nurses and other key clinical staff involved in driving guideline-based patient identification practices
  • Share appropriate approved educational and clinical information on patient identification to appropriate clinical personnel within health system
  • Deliver highly technical data driven presentations
  • Build and execute complex and highly strategic account-based plans to achieve guideline-based patient identification practices as a member of a cross functional management group 
  • Adhere to AZ Code of Conduct, The US Policy Handbook, Standards and SOPs, as well as comply with all regulatory and compliance requirements required by the role.
  • Partner with internal contacts including the brand team, oncology nurse educators, national oncology account directors, sales and medical affairs

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, preferably a graduate degree in business or life sciences
  • 5+ Years’ experience in clinical diagnostics or companion diagnostics driven oncology experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
  • Key account management experience along with strategic planning
  • Proven experience with a broad base of external customers including patients, prescribers, payors and providers
  • Demonstrated understanding of health system operational models
  • Demonstrated understanding of each of the multi-disciplinary team members’ role in patient care
  • Thorough knowledge of diagnostic testing regulatory environment
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Solid ability to lead without authority in order to set direction, generate commitment, balance short and long-term objectives and constructively resolve issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel based on geographical requirements
