Manager Site Operations, (cGMP Systems)

Join us in caring for the Gaithersburg campus—keeping our life‑changing work running efficiently. You’ll lead facilities and utilities operations, guide capital projects, champion safety and sustainability, and support a team that takes pride in reliable, patient‑centered outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Facilities & Utilities: Ensure reliable, 24/7 operations of critical utilities and cGMP systems. Oversee maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, corrective), equipment lifecycle (acquisition through upgrades), and BMS alarm response.

  • Safe, Compliant Operations: Uphold OSHA, SHE, ODS, MDE, WSSC, cGxP/FDA, and internal SOPs. Lead investigations, manage CRs/deviations, and maintain training and qualifications.

  • Smart Maintenance: Grow effective PM programs with clear KPIs. Partner with Planning & Scheduling on work orders and technician assignments. Use SAP/CMMS to drive data‑informed decisions and resilient spare‑parts strategies.

  • Impactful Projects: Lead facilities capital projects from planning to commissioning. Align scope, budget, schedule, and sustainability goals. Guide permitting, construction reviews, vendor contracts, and stakeholder communication—always with safety at the center.

  • Sustainability & Improvement: Advance the campus environmental strategy. Identify opportunities to cut carbon, reduce waste, and save costs while improving reliability and energy performance.

  • People Leadership: Support and develop technicians, engineers, contractors, and professional staff. Build inclusive, high‑performing teams and strong cross‑functional partnerships.

  • Strategic Stewardship: Contribute to site planning and infrastructure decisions. Shape procedures and policies with Manufacturing Sciences, SHE, Soft Services, and Contract Maintenance.

  • Accountability & Influence: Set budgets, schedules, and metrics. Make decisions with meaningful operational and financial impact. Lead briefings with senior partners and external stakeholders.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor'sin Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent work experience (5 years) may be considered.

  • 5+ years of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Facilities Management.

  • Experience with maintenance software, AutoCAD, and other specialized programs used in operations.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $89,874.40 - $134,811.60. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
