Associate Director, Capabilities and Partnerships

As Associate Director, Capabilities and Partnerships you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. North American Commercial is the 'face' of AstraZeneca to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

As a part of the AstraZeneca US Patient Support team, this individual reports into the Director, Capabilities and Vendor Partnerships, and is responsible for driving the implementation of vendor capabilities to enhance healthcare provider and patient access, market-analysis, cross-functional partnerships, industry trends, regulatory events in support of the entire US Patient Support ecosystem.

What you'll do:

• Support Director in the evaluation of and continual improvement of the US Patient Support operational ecosystem and resources on behalf of the entire product portfolio (both Oncology and BioPharmaceutical business units).

• Partner with vendors to find effective solutions and capabilities that build value for US Patient Support, patients and providers.

• Drive and coordinate the implementation of vendor solutions and capabilities, including proposal/argument creation

• Perform strategic management and oversight of key vendor contracts

• Partner with internal stakeholders, as vital, to identify funding sources and ongoing budget management

• Partner with internal stakeholders, including US Patient Support and brand colleagues, to drive key initiatives in support of goals, targets and objectives as they relate to healthcare provider and patient access

• Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of AZ’s activities related to Patient Support/Access Programs.

Essential for the role:

• Bachelor's degree or greater (general business, health sciences, managed healthcare, public policy or related fields are preferred)

• A minimum of 6 years' related work experience supporting / managing access and reimbursement support programs for brands in the specialty pharmaceutical space

• Previous work experience in vendor management and project management  

• Ability to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of AstraZeneca’s activities related to copay programs

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals and objectives

• Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively

• Business travel, by air or car, may be required for regular internal and external business meetings

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $144,430 .00 to 216,646.00 . Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity and eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.  ​​​
