Development Quality Summer Intern
We are seeking undergraduate sophomore and junior students majoring in engineering, science, or a related field for a 12-Week Student Intern role with one opening in Durham, NC for a May 19th - August 8th contract period.
Objective/Goals:
During this internship, the student will gain the following skills and experience:
- Understanding of the product development lifecycle, from introduction into development to commercialization.
- Problem solving and risk management skills, including quality events.
- Understanding of the clinical supply chain; how we get our medicines to patients.
- Scientific understanding of the new product portfolio, including devices.
- The role of Quality in development, and how to develop and apply the appropriate quality standards.
Position Duties:
- Leading, facilitating, and setting the standard for transformational initiatives through Business Process Management (BPM)/Lean with a technical/digital focus.
- Project management and task execution for Site Improvement projects enabling the implementation of aspirational new ways of working.
- Site, functional and global cross collaboration and interaction (Research and Development, Global Pharmaceutical Quality Systems, IT, and others) in order to deliver solutions.
- Setting the QA requirements and monitoring Clinical Batches from the Quality Perspective.
Position Requirements:
- Undergraduate sophomore and junior students majoring in engineering, science, or a related field. **Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.
- Must be a self-starter, able to work independently,
- Previous experience from research and projects in digital technology and/or science.
- Some programming skills would be a plus.
- Previous experience in building data collection platforms.
- Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Must be able to meet deadlines/balance multiple tasks at one time
- Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
- US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
- This role will not be providing CPT/OPT support.
- Ability to report onsite to Durham, NC five days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance.
- Minimum grade point average of 3.0
