BULK Material Handler- Operations

The Bulk Material Handler is responsible for the execution of warehouse activities to include bulk transfers to tanks, material receipt, sampling, stocking, documentation, temperature monitoring, and shipping of products; material staging and movement; delivery of customer non-inventory orders and all purchasing receipt functions in the SAP system. They are responsible for all associated inventory receipt and shipping documentation as well as standard inventory reporting functions.

What you'll do:
General Duties
Ethical conduct and compliance
Purchase warehouse consumables (pallets, stretch wrap, banding, labels, etc.)
Complete daily checklists
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse area (5S)
Participate in problem solving activities (Level 0, PPS, etc)
Attend team meetings to discuss progress, initiatives and/or other matters
Provide “off-shift” support
Provide 24/7 “on-call” support to others
Provide general office support
Inventory Control
Create transactions in SAP (receipts, transfers, shipments, destruction, adjustments/scrap, lookup, cycle counts)
Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory counts of starting materials, packaging components, drug substance, and other inventoried items, including recounts when necessary
Material Handling
Allocate and stage materials for manufacturing activities, including maintaining inventory in Kanban area
Handle hook ups for bulk transfers from transport vehicle to onsite tanks. (Pharmaceutical or oil/gas experience)
Operate warehouse equipment (Fork lift, pallet jacks and drum lifter, etc.)
Quality
Participate in investigations (i.e. complaints, deviations, temperature excursions)
Report process deviations when they occur
Maintain all required documentation in real time and assure inspection ready
Initiate appropriate action when process deviations occur
Interact with regulatory agency personnel during audits and inspections
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Monitor equipment and/or systems for performance and problem indicators
Weekly chart changes of temperature monitoring devices in the warehouse
Safety
Demonstrate and promote safe work practices and behaviors
Weekly inspections of the warehouse areas to include cleaning and safety compliance
Shipping/Receiving
Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments, including documentation
Complete incoming inspection of inbound shipments, checking for completeness and damages and required paperwork
Notify/deliver incoming shipments to appropriate personnel
Sampling of materials used in the manufacturing process, as required, including
Chemicals (Hazardous and non-hazardous) from 55-gallon drums.
Performing Raman tests
Chemical handling, to include transfer of 55-gallon drums from wood to plastic pallets, securing drums on a pallet for storage in racking, movement and storage of chemicals as necessary for manufacturing activities
Complete purchase order receipt transactions in SAP as appropriate
Monitor and assist loading and unloading of all materials
Shipping and receiving small parcels (FedEx/UPS)
Pallet Inspection and wipe down
Launch TempTracers for temperature monitoring of shipments
Tank Farm
Receipt of chemicals (hazardous and non-hazardous) deliveries from road tanker trucks to onsite storage tanks
Sampling from tank farm
Sampling from tanker trucks
Monitor tank farm alarms
Performing ID Tests (Raman/pH)
Essential for the role:
3-5 years warehouse experience
Warehouse Management System experience- SAP is preferred
Bulk transfer from tanker trucks to onsite storage tanks
Ability and willingness to learn, ask questions and be curious about processes/activities
Ability to navigate computer systems like SharePoint
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Experienced fork truck driver
Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed
Desirable:
Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
MRP/ERP experience (SAP)
Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing Principles
Bulk chemical deliveries
