We are looking for a Therapeutic Area Lead (TAL), to lead, develop and support a team of Medical Scientific Advisors. The role requires regular presence in our Copenhagen office, regular travel in Denmark and occasional international congress attendance
The role
The TAL is a part of the country cross-functional team, and externally secures the success of the team in their medical affairs activities, such as medical and scientific product or disease area discussion, insight gathering, transforming care, congress activities, investigator management, external sponsored research and presentations in a non-promotional scientific context.
This role is responsible for outlining and executing the therapeutic area medical strategy and Medical Activity Plan, and there is clear accountability for clinical trial support and early launch preparation of the extensive pipeline. You translate scientific knowledge and external insights into strategies that support decision making and ultimately business success. The Therapeutic Area Lead reports into the Medical Department BBU (Medical Head BBU Denmark) and does not have commercial objectives or measures.
In addition, you will
- Build and prioritize a medical team of excellence to ensure the success of the portfolio.
- Support team development, focusing on the consolidation of its strengths and the improvement areas and ensure implementation of Individual Development Plans
- Active contribution to development and implementation of the cross-functional Business Plan
- Accountable for clinical trail support and early launch preparations identifying pipeline assets potential future use and business opportunities for the company
- Scientific Leadership, close work with other collaborators connected to studies, real world evidence and clinical studies to enable Denmark to become an attractive country for study conduct
In order to succeed
- Preferably Medical education, Pharmacist or relevant PhD, MSc in life science
- In depth therapeutic area knowledge across the Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism spectrum
- Experiences in a senior medical lead role or indirect leadership in medical affairs
- Proven cross functional experience and collaboration with Marketing, Market Access, Patient Advocacy
- Ability to travel to external meetings and congresses
- Track record of working with Evidence Generation
- Success of Medical Affairs Plan deliverable including experience of coaching in field
- Experience from the entire spectrum of drug development relevant for a marketing company
- Shown success in the majority of marketing company medical affairs initiatives (e.g. the medical affairs toolbox)
You will need to have excellent communication and presentation skills, fluent in both written and spoken Danish and English.
