Senior Manager - Reporting - Field Operations
Job Title: Senior Manager - Reporting - Field Operations
Career Level: E
Introduction to role:
Are you ready to transform field reporting at enterprise scale and turn operational data into fast, confident decisions that help patients sooner? This role leads the engine room that powers our field operations. It brings rigor, stability, and innovation to analytics and reporting. Our commercial teams rely on these capabilities every day.
You will own the end-to-end delivery model for reporting across multiple platforms and geographies, building a cohesive operating rhythm that accelerates cycle times, improves quality, and boosts production stability. You will coordinate the connection of dots across data engineering, development, testing, and release to build a transparent, predictable, and continuously improving service. Can you turn complex workstreams into a streamlined, insight-generating machine while coaching global teams to new performance heights?
Accountabilities:
End-to-End Delivery Leadership and Governance: Establish and run a rigorous delivery cadence—sprint planning, capacity planning, release management, and operational performance reviews—so every increment meets defined quality, accuracy, and timeliness standards. From day one, bring transparency to demand versus capacity and set a steady rhythm the organization can trust.
Production Stability and SLA Management: Own service levels, incident response, and escalation pathways to minimize unplanned work and maintain a resilient environment. Drive proactive defect prevention and triage rigors that protect business continuity for field users.
Integrated Operating Model: Unite on-platform, off-platform, sampling, and data engineering work into a single operating model with common standards, workflows, and handoffs. Replace silos with shared goals and measurable throughput.
Technical Feasibility and Estimation: Implement a reliable intake-to-estimate process that completes feasibility within five business days, validates technical requirements before sprint start, and keeps capacity planning accurate. Use data to ensure commitments are realistic and met.
Quality Assurance and Defect Prevention: Build a robust QA framework with strong test coverage, early defect detection, and disciplined release protocols. Maintain full audit readiness with complete documentation—logic maps, SOPs, data flows, and release notes—so quality is built in, not inspected at the end.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Deliver measurable quarterly improvements—shorter cycle times, higher automation, fewer defects, and up-to-date documentation. Introduce new technologies and methods that elevate analytics and reporting capability for field operations.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with Commercial IT, critical operations, PMO, Solution Owners, developers, and data engineers. Provide consistent operational updates to leadership and prepare teams for evolving business priorities across markets and brands.
Global Team Leadership and Talent Development: Lead and mentor global teams in Chennai and Guadalajara. Create role clarity and standards, build a culture of continuous learning, and manage resource allocation, hiring plans, and succession to sustain performance.
Operational Reporting and Insights: Build and maintain operational dashboards, quality indicators, and throughput metrics. Deliver monthly dashboards and quarterly insights that spotlight trends, bottlenecks, and recommendations that inform strategic decisions.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Experience leading reporting and analytics operations for commercial field organizations in life sciences or similarly complex, regulated industries
Advanced proficiency with Agile/Scrum delivery, including backlog management and velocity tracking; relevant certifications a plus
Familiarity with ITIL service management, incident/problem/change processes, and SLA design
Hands-on exposure to modern data platforms and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, dbt) and visualization solutions (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Strong SQL and data modeling fundamentals; ability to engage deeply with developers and analytics professionals on technical trade-offs
Background in test automation and CI/CD for analytics assets; experience implementing QA frameworks for data and reporting
Lean/Six Sigma attitude for process improvement with a track record of measurable gains
Experience building and operating global follow-the-sun teams; proven coaching and succession planning capability
Knowledge of commercial CRM and data ecosystems (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce) and sampling operations
