About the role

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure optimum performance and stability for multiple systems for the Laboratory and Manufacturing Quality Systems (LIMS, MODA EM, CMX, Etc.) for AstraZeneca Operations, including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address the issue.

• Develop Scaling Road Maps and contribute to its execution.

• Develop and coordinate the execution of Application Heat-Maps (Application refresh).

• Collaborate with Product Vendors & Internal Teams (Architecture, DB, etc.) related to Scaling & Support Problem Investigations.

• Assist DevOps Lead in Release Management.

• Provide 2nd/ 3rd line support (technical queries, bug fixes, and enhancements relating to application and platform), aligning with Astra Zeneca standards, and change control procedures.

• Project execution following agile methodologies.

• Contribute to the adoption of the DevOps framework.

• Take ownership of issues from delivery or issue resolution or customer concern, as appropriate

• Support development activities by helping in code build and deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment set up, and change and release management.

• Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups

• Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, documenting and sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams.

• Liaise with multiple collaborators including users, infrastructure/middleware teams, 3rd party software vendors for resolving issues and potential process improvements.

• Train, guide, and mentor new hires in the team.

Essential Experience: (Must have skills)

• +5 years of prior experience in application support and maintenance (L2/L3 support)

• Strong knowledge (2-3 years of experience) of Laboratory data Systems such as LabWare LIMS, MODA EM, CMX, ELN, etc.

• 1-3 years of experience managing projects following agile methodologies (SCRUM)

• Basic/Medium knowledge in DevOps.

• Experience in Windows/UNIX application environment and understanding of client-server / distributed computing concepts.

• Basic understanding of session virtualization concepts, and exposure to Citrix working environments.

• Strong knowledge of the incident, problem, change and release management process.

• Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups.

• Development and fix experience on web applications built on the Microsoft .NET framework (ASP, VB, C#).

• Development and fix experience with MS SQL Server (2008, 2005, 2000)

• Development and fix experience with Oracle 11g or higher version.

• Good understanding of Microsoft IIS/Web Services (IIS 6.0, IIS 5.0)

• Experience working with tools like Microsoft Visual Source Safe, Microsoft Visual Interdev, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Developer.

Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)

• Familiarity with life sciences (Pharma) domain concepts, workflow, and terminology

• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements including GMP, GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11.

• Exposure to system validation in the GxP environment is preferred for apps such as Labwware LIMS, MODA EM, CMX, SMARTLAB, and ELN.

• Experience working in global work teams.

• Experience in setting up and managing application environments.

• An attitude to support business-critical applications.

Educational Qualifications

UG - B.Tech /B.E. or other equivalent technical qualifications

• Must participate in on-call rotation with off-hours support responsibilities

• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment

• A logical mind with keen analytical skills

• Clear and concise communicator, in born written and verbal
