Based in Chennai, you will join a team building a new medical data foundation that powers insights, analytics and AI covering different regions and medical specialties. Your work will standardise metrics, resolve data conflicts and deliver timely dedication that Medical leaders trust to act on.
From day one, you will shape scalable data models, automate ingestion of manual and external datasets, and champion data quality and integrity. You will partner closely with Medical collaborators to turn urgent questions into reproducible analytics and dashboards that guide strategy. Can you envision yourself creating pipelines and models that move seamlessly from idea to reliable production at enterprise scale?
Accountabilities:
Medical data analysis and reporting: Build and run custom and standard reports using Excel, Power Query, SQL and Python to answer high-priority Medical questions and advise decisions.
Build robust and reusable data structures by integrating inputs from various origins. Deliver insightful Power BI dashboards using DAX aligned to standard Medical metrics and benchmarks.
Automate the process of bringing together and integrating manually collected and external data. These sources are currently missing from enterprise data hubs. This supports repeatable reporting and analytics at scale.
Data design and decisions: Own key decisions on schemas, transformations and calculations to ensure performance, maintainability and scalability across markets and therapeutic areas.
Data accuracy and consistency: Coordinate quality and lineage, implement global integrity and consistent reporting, surface issues and be responsible for resolution with platform and data owners.
Rules validation and conflict resolution: Identify and source datasets to validate business rules and requirements; reconcile discrepancies within and across systems to establish single sources of truth.
Continuous improvement: Bring together feedback, develop requirements and propose improvements to reporting, platforms and metric capabilities that increase adoption and business value.
Platform support: Support Medical data products and platforms to ensure accurate refreshes, diligent pipelines and high trust in outputs.
Collaborator collaboration: Partner with Medical and multi-functional teams to tailor analytics to specific needs, drive adoption and build an exchanged opinions of definitions and metrics.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Education: Quantitative bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or related).
5+ years of experience.
Good working experience in data management systems, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data mesh architectures.
Analytics and BI: Proficient with SQL, Power BI (data modelling, DAX, visuals) and Excel/Power Query; confirmed understanding of Python for data wrangling/automation.
Data governance and quality: Good understanding of data quality practices, lineage, and documentation to ensure integrity and reproducibility.
Communication: Superb communication and collaborator management; ability to translate Medical needs into clear technical requirements and deliver concise insights.
Ways of working: Ability to define user stories and acceptance criteria; collaborate in agile sprints; advocate for user centric design in analytics products.
Problem solving: Proven track record to investigate data issues, reconcile discrepancies, and produce actionable recommendations
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Sophisticated tooling: Experience with Databricks, AWS S3/Redshift (or similar cloud data platforms), and Power Apps for light workflow enablement or fixing issues.
Data engineering basics: Experience building data models from multiple sources/tables; familiarity with data pipelines and scheduling for automated refresh.
Domain exposure: Understanding of Pharmaceutical data domain, Medical/Scientific data domains and critical metrics; familiarity with Veeva/Medical platforms and centralized data repositories.
Standards and semantics: Exposure to metric standardisation, taxonomy/ontology usage, or semantic models to support consistent reporting.
Process perfection: Experience partnering with multiple collaborators (Medical, Commercial, IT) and third party providers; comfort with compliance-aware analytics practices.
