In this role, you will set the direction for AI solutions that accelerate discovery, improve decision-making, and safely scale innovation across the enterprise. Your work will create the building blocks and guardrails that empower teams to deliver AI with speed, consistency, and trust.
You will partner across functions to design and implement a federated model for AI solution creation, enabling citizen developers while upholding rigorous standards and regulatory requirements. This is a chance to shape how AI is built and governed at AstraZeneca, guiding teams from idea through compliant delivery and establishing practices that become the blueprint for our digital future.
Accountabilities:
- Agentic AI Strategy: Define and lead the technology strategy for the Agentic AI ecosystem, setting a clear path from early capability to enterprise-wide adoption and measurable impact.
- Design Standards and Compliance: Establish robust design standards and ensure technology delivery aligns with AstraZeneca policies and applicable regulations, creating trusted and auditable solutions.
- End-to-End Solution Leadership: Own planning, analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of Microsoft Copilot Agentic AI solutions, driving right-first-time delivery that scales and sustains.
- Citizen Developer Enablement: Create curated AI building blocks and structured enablement pathways that unlock self-service innovation while maintaining quality and control.
- Governance Workflows: Design and operationalize governance workflows that balance speed with safety, embedding risk management and ethical AI practices into everyday development.
- Federated Operating Model: Build and evolve a federated model that decentralizes AI solution creation responsibly, enabling domain teams while ensuring global coherence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, data, security, compliance, and engineering teams to align use cases, resolve challenges, and accelerate delivery.
- Guidance and Influence: Advise project teams, influence cases, and drive alignment to standards, acting as a trusted technology leader who converts complex needs into clear, actionable plans.
- Outcomes and Scale: Measure adoption, performance, and business value, using insights to iterate building blocks, improve workflows, and expand the impact of AI across the enterprise.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Experience across planning, analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of AI solutions.
- Strong experience and knowledge in Agentic AI platforms including Copilot Studio and M365 Copilot and establishing governance patterns that safely democratize AI (e.g., governed prompts, solution templates, and environment policies) for citizen developers
- Proven ability to lead the technology strategy for an Agentic AI ecosystem.
- Demonstrated capability to establish robust design standards and deliver technology compliantly.
- Collaboration to drive the growth of AI across AstraZeneca, including structured enablement of citizen developers via curated AI building blocks.
- Expertise in governance workflows and a federated operating model for democratized AI solution creation.
- Ability to guide project teams, influence cases, and ensure alignment with AstraZeneca standards and regulatory requirements.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience building enterprise AI platforms and reusable components (e.g., orchestration, evaluation, guardrails, observability).
- Background in MLOps/ModelOps, model lifecycle governance, and responsible AI practices.
- Familiarity with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, vector stores, and prompt engineering.
- Knowledge of data privacy, security, and healthcare-related compliance domains.
- Track record enabling citizen developers through training, documentation, and communities of practice.
- Strong communication and stakeholder influence skills that translate technical detail into business value.
