ABOUT THE ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY SERVICES TEAM

The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team is accountable for all Infrastructure, Security, IT Operations and all End User Services and technologies. This group will ensure that our IT Services are seamless and secure, and that technology is delivered in an efficient, effective, and agile way, with a strong focus on experience.

THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Service Asset& Configuration Management (SACM) function is accountable for Hardware and Software Asset Managementand the Configuration Management Database that underpinsIT Service Management for AstraZeneca.

  • Hardware Asset Management defines and governs against the global standards forhardware asset lifecycle from cradle to grave, across all Infrastructure asset classes including, Server, Network, Laptop, Desktop & Mobile devices, effectively managingrisk.

  • Software Asset Management reports and analysessoftware usage against entitlement, identifying gaps and supportingapplication and service owners remediate any non-compliancesand in doing so provides audit defense.

  • CMDB Ownershipdefines, measures, governsand manages the data within the CMDB, ensuring that our inventory is complete, accurateand leveraged as the source of the truthto underpin ITSM processes and key business decision makingi.e. application rationalization & TCO analysis

The HardwareAsset Manager role isaccountable for defining our Hardware Asset Management processes and standards and governingthedistributedorganisation againsttheirsuccessful execution.  Accountablefor monitoring, reporting and addressing anynon complianceswith local process owners to ensure adherence.  This role works with service owners across Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) to ensure thatprocess changes through technology innovation can be incorporated into the global standards andwe continue to manage the risk of distributed & centralised assetsappropriately.

TheHardware Asset Manager rolehas:

  • Ownershipand accountability forHardware Asset Managementincluding standards, governance, reporting and compliance

  • Responsibilityto driveremedial actions where non compliances are found across the globally distributedestate

  • Audit responsibilityensuring that as acontrol owner, hardware asset management is audit readyat all times, with any risks appropriately tracked and managed

  • Engages with key Stakeholdersto ensurestandards are effective and meetcontrol and functional requirements

  • Delivers service improvementstoasset management standards and processesto ensure they are simple and effective to use. 

  • Manages our technology partnerseffectively to ensureAZ is on the leading edge of technology innovation, both benefiting from and shaping our partners roadmaps

  • Lead and continuously develop a strongmatrix teamof global process owners, who’s responsibility is todeliver against the standards defined by this role

  • Accountablefor Risk and Compliance across the services

  • Responsiblefor the definition of successful business cases, interlocking investment todrive improvements

  • Be a key member of theWorkplace and Enterprise ServicesSACM Leadership Teamto ensure that the team continues to develop and grow and that strategies are aligned and executed effectively.

YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE

Education, Qualificationsand Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing an IT Service team

  • Strong experience of  developing and managing relationships with both customers and suppliers

  • Application of policies, procedures and guidelines and providing expertise to business group

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of risk management and assessment

  • Must have experience of dealing with Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance

Desirable

  • Business Administration / Information Service Degree

  • ITIL training / service management accreditation

  • Technical skills, awareness and experience

Skills and Capabilities

Essential

  • Strong communication, facilitation and relationship building skills

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills

Desirable

  • Ability to work well in diverse, multinational teams andproven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes
