Introduction to role

Joining AstraZeneca as a Test Engineer, your responsibilities will include carrying out different testing tasks within IT projects, following specific test strategies and standard methodologies. Your role involves testing software products to a high standard and documenting the output of testing activities clearly and concisely. Testing activities include requirements analysis, test design, test case and test charter creation, test execution, automation, tooling, test documentation, and test reporting.

Accountabilities

• Extensive experience with end-to-end testing processes, including test planning, design, execution, and reporting, working either in a team with other testers or independently as a sole tester.
• Work on preparation and execution of functional test scripts, ensuring thorough coverage and adherence to best practices.
• Oversee the defect lifecycle, from identification and documentation to prioritization and resolution, ensuring clear communication with development teams.
• Monitor and manage the progress of test phases, providing regular updates and detailed reports on test execution status to collaborators.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with the testing process, addressing issues promptly and advancing when needed.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams, collaborators, customers, and partners.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Advanced knowledge of software testing and exposure to automation.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong knowledge and skills in using testing tools and methodologies
• Excellent domain skills
• 3-5 years hands-on experience with Functional Testing Concepts with:
• Good understanding of Testing lifecycle
• Hands on experience in writing test scenarios, scripts
• Good understanding of project artifacts like Strategy, Plan, Reports etc.
• Good understanding of defect lifecycle and triage
• Ability to frame basic SQL queries
• Excellent Analytical and Logical Thinking.
• Technical or Business Degree or proven relevant experience.
• Highly proficient skills and experience in testing software products.
• Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Lifesciences domain skills
• Bachelors degree
• GxP Validation experience
• Experience testing with tools is a plus
• Experience with Selenium is a plus
• Basic understanding of DB concepts
• Hands on experience working in Agile projects
• Experience in Life Sciences is a plus
