Our increased focus on Digital, AI & ML, Data & Data Science, along with joint ventures and collaboration with third parties, is creating new opportunities within the Cyber Security team. We are seeking an experienced cybersecurity specialist to navigate the challenging and ever-changing cyber technology and threat landscape. If you understand attackers, their motivations, and the overall threat landscape, and believe that security is a journey rather than a destination, we want you on our team.

Accountabilities

This role will lead a team of engineers and specialists to plan, complete, and sustain the full lifecycle of security solutions. As an entrepreneurial and innovation-driven role, you will operate within AstraZeneca’s Cybersecurity Products and Assurance group to deliver quality services and solutions that meet both business and IT needs. You will provide technical leadership, guidance, definition, and design of enterprise-wide security initiatives. Collaborate with Business, Solution Delivery, Engineering, and Quality and Compliance functions across a global organization spanning US, UK, Sweden, China, Japan, Poland, Mexico, India, and beyond.

- Develop Cyber Security solutions for Cloud, Hybrid, on-premise, and third-party collaboration environments.
- Identify, design, and deploy cyber security solutions for the organization.
- Influence the future state of cyber security within assigned domains through review and gap analysis.
- Create and promote security best practices such as playbooks and standards.
- Implement and enforce strategies and policies across the enterprise.
- Define and create a portfolio of secure design principles.
- Collaborate with other technical cyber functions for effective security.
- Stay abreast of innovations in the cyber industry and incorporate them into solutions.
- Guide and support Architects, Engineering, and Support functions to ensure solutions align with AZ Security policies.
- Perform security reviews using threat modeling and other techniques.
- Hire, lead, and grow a diverse team with an inclusive culture.

Essential Skills/Experience

- Must have an in-depth understanding of key cybersecurity frameworks, controls, and standard methodologies.
- Experience with leading cybersecurity vendor solutions across the OSI layers.
- Proven capability in problem-solving, defining requirements, and developing solution blueprints.
- Excellent understanding of Cloud, Hybrid, and On-Premise architectures.
- Familiarity with common attack techniques and their remediation/defense.
- Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and network security implementations.
- Ability to carry out evaluations, gap analysis, and vendor assessments for security technologies.
- Ability to design, build, test, and implement cyber security solutions.
- Ability to map governance and compliance frameworks to technical implementation.
- Strong Cloud architecture experience across multiple verticals.
- Ability to prioritize and validate critical threats.
- Experience in security roadmap and strategy development.
- Ability to work across multiple teams in various geographic regions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Recognized Cyber Security certification or working towards one.
- Experience in hiring, building, and leading a technical team.
