Introduction to Role:
Join us at AstraZeneca in the Metadata Discovery and Access Team as a Catalog Lead. This full-time Grade F role is based at our GITC site in Chennai. As part of our Information and Data Enablement (IDE) capability, we are seeking a Technical Lead for our metadata discovery workstream. You will work closely with the Enterprise Data Marketplace Product Owner on the technical roadmap and delivery of our business needs. Your responsibility will include leading the technical team on solutioning requirements on Collibra and EvEx platform, user interfaces, APIs, data models, and workflows.
Accountabilities:
You will be accountable for the excellence of code & test-driven development and collaborating with the Business Analyst, Project Manager, Scrum Master and IA to ensure effective day-to-day execution of a metrics-driven SDLC. You will need a collaborative delivery approach to be successful. We use Scaled Agile with standard-length program increments (12-14 weeks).
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Technical Proficiency: Experience working in Data Governance Platforms such as Collibra, Evidence Explorer, Data.world, Atlan.
- Metadata Domain Knowledge: Good understanding of the tech and business metadata usage across the organization.
- Engineering Leadership: Hands-on experience of engineering best practices including CICD, automated testing, cloud infrastructure, requirements gathering code review etc.
- Agile Delivery: Proven experience in delivering Metadata solutions and service at scale in large, complex settings.
- Service Excellence and Continuous Improvement: Ensure delivery of services focusing on automation, reuse, and standardized platforms.
- Optimization and Collaboration: Ensure coordinated efforts across enterprise team, IT DO and business DO for maximum impact.
- Strategic Alignment: Engage with Product Owners and leads of other workstreams in the Data Discovery and Access team to develop integrated solutions and technical roadmaps of the products/platforms in use.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring technical designs and solutions meet their strategic goals.
- Team Management: Lead and support your team, focusing on their wellbeing, performance, and professional development.
- Enterprise Integration: Collaborate with enterprise leaders to leverage global solutions and provide necessary support to business areas.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to see beyond the tactical day to day noise and shape long term D&AI strategy in line with long term business strategy.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience of leading and growing engineering teams with a track record of developing talent and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Proven experience of innovation, Lean and agile delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to communicate with senior stakeholders across IT & business.
