The Transforming Care Manager – Field reports to the Transforming Care Lead and is responsible for deploying strategically aligned solutions into the healthcare system at scale. These solutions are identified and driven from franchise tumour strategy plans and the Transforming Care Manage role plays a critical role in operationalising this agenda. The Transforming Care agenda is central to AstraZeneca’s mission to eliminate cancer as a cause of death, reflecting the company’s commitment to partnering with the healthcare system to overcome barriers that prevent patients from accessing innovative medicines.

Through in depth local and regional oncology understanding, the Transforming Care Manager improves the oncology patient journey across local healthcare systems through working with field and head office colleagues to implement sustainable solutions with cross-functional and external stakeholders. The primary purpose of this role is to lead on Transforming Care solution implementation across the UK, through deep understanding of local oncology pathways, stakeholders and services and through delivering AstraZeneca’s Transforming Care value proposition to drive local partnerships that deliver value for patients, the healthcare system and AstraZeneca

This role will need to deliver management of projects end to end, engaging partners through project scoping, negotiation, finalisation, delivery, evaluation and close at a local and regional level.  The Transforming Care Manager will be the Transforming Care point of contact for oncology cancer field teams and will lead cross-functional teams to scale solutions to improve patient outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Proactively analyse and identify challenges and bottlenecks in patient pathways within local healthcare markets and within priority hospitals, through close collaboration with existing field force, local landscape analysis and external stakeholders
  • Implement and scale Transforming Care solutions that optimise pathways and accelerate diagnosis and appropriate treatment, aligned to franchise tumour strategy plans
  • Lead end-to-end management of projects, including scoping, partner engagement, negotiation, planning, execution and timely delivery, within budget, and with measurable outcomes (including evidence generation) and additional scaling recommendations
  • Build capability and ongoing cross functional working in market through relevant field teams to identify pathway issues using mapping tools and data.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders across franchises and work closely with field teams to understand local stakeholder priorities and barriers to optimal care. This includes integrating Transforming Care insights and activities into existing account strategies and plans
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local NHS stakeholders, including clinical leads, service managers and operational teams to deliver on Transforming Care partnerships
  • Share best practices and learnings across different franchises, markets and within the global AstraZeneca organisation to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all solutions comply with local and international regulations, ethical guidelines, and industry standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in healthcare innovation and pathway optimisation
  • Experience in engaging with senior NHS stakeholders
  • Proficiency in data analysis and mapping tools
  • Strategic and creative thinking
  • Change management skills

Desirable

  • Advanced Degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in Oncology care and patient pathways.
  • Advanced communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience in agile and human-centred design methodologies.
