This role will require you to work collaboratively across AstraZeneca and with partners to support and facilitate the effective finance transition of acquired and divested products to support the business's development objectives. Working within the deals specialist group of Group Financial Reporting at AstraZeneca the role covers a large group of stakeholders, preparing and providing financial reports to our partners, undertaking financial analysis, and look for opportunities to simplify and improve the divestment process.

Your typical accountabilities will include:

  • Supporting the Post Deal Leads in managing the relationships with divestment partners, including assisting with responding to queries, preparation of financial analysis, and liaison with AstraZeneca Marketing Companies to provide commentary on trends.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly revenue and inventory reports for AstraZeneca’s divestment partners.
  • Responsible for preparing periodic reconciliations as part of the transition process, resolving issues through collaboration with Operations and finance support teams.
  • Providing finance technical support to deal teams in support of AstraZeneca’s contractual obligations.
  • Playing a role in meeting AstraZeneca’s commitments to strong financial controls and governance.
  • To work with the rest of the Post Deal team in its goal of continuous performance improvement and process simplification, and to work collaboratively with the wider AZ finance community to help effect changes

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or similar)
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Good communication skills, including oral and written, with experience in communicating complex issues to senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in an environment that emphasizes teamwork
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and frequently changing priorities
  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experienced user of standard office software, in particular Microsoft Excel

Your desirable skills and qualifications:

  • Pharmaceutical Industry Experience
  • Experience of working within and navigating a complex organisation
  • Experience working in a transaction environment
  • Experience building strong working relationships with people outside own organisation including across borders
  • Experience working with others to design and implement process improvements
  • Experience of SAP, Hyperion or other similar systems
