We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic company secretarial or legal professional to join our Board & Corporate Support team (B&CS). The role can be based either at our global headquarters campus in central Cambridge OR at our Pancras Square site in London N1C. *Please note that should the role be London based then the job holder will be expected to travel to our Cambridge site circa once per week (or every other week) to meet with the wider team.
The B&CS team is a well-respected part of AstraZeneca’s wider Legal function. We are a busy company secretariat team that values flexibility and a willingness to learn and to take on new challenges. Main duties and responsibilities
As well as working with the AstraZeneca Group’s boards and committees and managing three stock exchange listings, the B&CS team is heavily involved in key business activities such as financings, production of the annual report and corporate transactions.
Reporting to the Deputy Company Secretary, you will be adaptable and able to work flexibly within the team to provide support on significant matters and projects as they arise, as well as having your own ongoing responsibilities such as management of Group subsidiaries and preparation for shareholder meetings. We will offer you the opportunity to lead on important projects and you will be highly visible to our senior leaders.
You must be self-aware and eager to learn more about our business, build good working relationships with stakeholders outside the B&CS team and understand how your team’s activities fit into the “bigger picture” of our organisation.
To excel in this role, you will have the following skills and experience
Strong company secretarial or legal experience coupled with a desire to expand your skill set as you quickly adapt to a new team and new organisation
Pragmatic with an ability to switch your focus between detailed technical matters and a broader “big picture” approach, as required by the task in hand
Proven record of ability to take on, and prioritise, multiple workstreams and being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work to high standards of accuracy
Collaborative and keen to share knowledge with, and learn from, other team members, and represent the team to internal and external stakeholders
Highly desirable requirements
Company secretarial or legal qualification (obtained or partially completed)
Listed company experience and a good knowledge of the associated regulatory requirements
Governance experience and good working knowledge of UK corporate governance regime
Experience of managing insider lists in compliance with EU Market Abuse Regulation
Experience working in Blueprint
