Head of US Strategic Initiatives and Operations
This is what you will do:
The Head of Strategic Initiatives & Operations will report into the VP of US Value and Access. This position is responsible for owning initiatives that require cross-functional, above brand coordination, both internal and external to the US Value and Access organization.
This role is based at Alexion’s Boston headquarters.
You will be responsible for:
- Create executive-level narratives and recommendations for senior leadership endorsement and cross-functional alignment of key priorities
- Leading or setting up task forces to take on strategic initiatives, such as AI initiatives, launch ways of working, business review, etc.
- Assessing and informing the market access organization of new capabilities / innovation that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the US Value and Access organization
- Leads in the impact modeling of environmental shifts and marketplace dynamics on the Alexion portfolio of medicines
- Acting as the market access lead on cross-functional initiatives with teams outside of the US Value and Access organization (e.g. Strategic Account Leads, sales organization, Patient Services, BOCE, etc.)
- Ensure effective governance process and organize major meeting schedule for Market Access team
- Co-lead with VP Market Access development of annual operating plan (focus on FTE and project spend)
- Lead all market access-wide internal meetings, training and compliance initiatives
- Manage market access budget activities including working closely with Finance
- Identify interdependencies and connections between departments and ensure integrated end-to-end visibility and alignment.
You will need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field
- 10+ years of related and/or transferable experience in a biotech or pharma company
- Ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex business proposals
- Strong understanding of relevant U.S. regulations and policies
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex business challenges and data-driven recommendations to senior leaders
- Knowledge of the US market access landscape as well as subject matter expertise of Market Access organizations
We would prefer you to have:
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Must have project management experience and excellent analytical, strategic thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills
- Expresses industry knowledge and acumen including Rare Disease experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment
- Must exhibit strong leadership skills
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Project)
