TITLE: Associate Director, Corporate Development 

LOCATION: Boston, MA (A hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with company policies.) 

HOURS: Full-Time; Mon-Fri (40 hours/week)  

DUTIES:    Support cross-functional scientific and financial evaluations of transformative strategic opportunities across various therapy areas (“TAs”). Apply understanding of transaction processes and structures including M&A, licensing, development and commercialization agreements. Provide transaction management expertise to design, evaluate, and implement innovative deal structures, working closely with leadership to prioritize opportunities. Work closely with executive management to develop and implement long-term corporate strategies that aligned overall company goals with external business development opportunities. Coordinate input from multifunctional teams, including Research and Development (“R&D”), Finance, Legal, Internet Protocol (“IP”), Operations, Global Medical Scientific Operations (“GMSO”), and Global Commercial Operations, to support evaluations, due diligence, and risk mitigation planning. Prepare valuations, deal impact analyses, and materials for senior leadership discussions, assisting in negotiation, closure. Support ad hoc business development projects and develop in-depth assessments of external growth opportunities, including financial simulations and transaction risk evaluations.  

REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in the position offered, or as a Financial Analyst or a related position in a corporate development role within the biopharmaceutical industry. Must have four (4) years experience with all of the following: Providing strategic advice on mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) and licensing transactions; Assessing and executing transactions from conceptual ideas through transaction closing; Leading due diligence and valuation for at least ten (10) M&A or licensing deals in the life sciences sector developing strategic narrative and bidding tactics; Leading transaction processes and transaction structures, including M&A, licensing, co-development and commercialization agreements; Utilizing valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow (“DCF”), net present value (“NPV”), scenario analysis, precedent and comparable transactions analysis; Developing, auditing, and adapting large and highly sophisticated financial models; Utilizing CapIQ, AlphaSense, and FactSet to conduct market intelligence, target screening, and financial benchmarking across potential M&A and licensing opportunities; and Working as part of international, multi-functional project teams of senior professionals including both internal and external advisors.  

The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $189,735.00 to $258,963.00. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
