Role Overview

As a Market Access Manager for Rare disease (RD), you will drive market access strategies to secure reimbursement and enhance affordability across multiple channels. Your role will involve engaging diverse stakeholders—including government agencies—to advocate for healthcare pricing, access policies, and expansion solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Market Access

  • Develop & execute market access strategies for assigned brands to maximize patient access, affordability, and business impact.
  • Lead pricing discussions and collaborate cross-functionally to align pricing strategies with brand positioning and value propositions.
  • Analyze and monitor healthcare regulations and industry trends to identify opportunities and overcome access barriers.
  • Maximize market access opportunities through strategic business partnerships, including collaborations with private insurers, NGOs, banks, financial institutions, and healthcare partners to enhance financial solutions for drug access.
  • Evaluate new opportunities, providing insights and feasibility assessments for pricing and reimbursement of pipeline products.

External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies and advocacy groups, to influence healthcare access policies and expand access to AstraZeneca’s innovative medicines.
  • Develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies to foster partnerships and accelerate reimbursement decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFTs) to effectively deliver the value proposition to key stakeholders, ensuring timely follow-ups and monitoring plans.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 8+ years of overall experience, with 3-4 years in Market Access and Reimbursement roles.
  • Strong relationships with key external stakeholders (government agencies, payers, policymakers, and healthcare institutions).
  • Proven track record in securing reimbursement approvals, expanding access, and developing successful financial solutions.
  • Deep understanding of India’s market access landscape, including regulatory policies, payer dynamics, and healthcare stakeholders.
  • Strategic agility with extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and commercialization process.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional matrix teams.
