Introduction to role
This Distribution Specialist role sits within the Distribution Excellence team, driving end-to-end distributor lifecycle processes that keep medicines moving efficiently and compliantly. The position manages onboarding, documentation, lifecycle changes and SAP operations, while connecting sales, finance and backend operations to ensure distributors are set up, supported and controlled in a robust way. Accountability
1) Lead distributor onboarding and setup activities, ensuring all documentation, verification and approvals are completed accurately and on time. Develop and maintain high-quality distributor master data in SAP, keeping records current and aligned with internal standards.
2) Maintain and organize distributor documentation to meet regulatory and internal compliance requirements, ensuring audit readiness with clear version control and traceability.
3) Handle day-to-day distributor lifecycle changes, including bank detail updates, license renewals and tracking expiries, as well as structural or operational changes.
4) Handle high-volume change requests efficiently, supporting large and sophisticated distributor networks. Act as a central point of contact for distributor-related operational issues, coordinating with sales teams to address field-level challenges.
5) Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve system issues in SAP, such as billing blocks and account restrictions, to keep operations flowing. Lead distributor-related transactions and controls within SAP, identifying and resolving system blocks to support smooth billing and order processing. Build a strong understanding of process dependencies across functions to troubleshoot effectively and prevent recurring issues.
6) Support and supervise key performance indicators such as fill rate, OTIF, order cycle time, claim TAT, POD TAT and master update TAT, using data to highlight risks and opportunities.
7) Create dashboards and generate insights on distributor processes and lifecycle performance, helping the team make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement. Ask challenging questions about how things are done today and give ideas that help evolve the distribution model for the future!
Essential Skills
Experience in Pharma / FMCG / similar sectors with strong distributor management exposure
Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (especially in pharma preferred)
Experience running large distributor networks (pan-India exposure is a plus)
Desirable Skills
Understanding of India Pharma Market and prior work in pharma distribution.
Ability to think out of box and drive innovation.
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
