As a Territory Business Manager, you will sit at the intersection of science and partnership—translating evidence into confident prescribing decisions and ensuring patients gain timely access to our innovative medicines. Your work will drive growth, strengthen our presence in priority accounts, and help build standards of care across the territory.
You will join a field team that grows with collaboration—bringing clinicians, administrators, and internal colleagues together to accelerate responsible change. Accountabilities:
Sales Strategy Execution: Translate brand strategy into a territory plan, prioritize targets, and deliver purposeful engagements that drive adoption and exceed sales objectives.
Territory Performance Leadership: Monitor performance metrics frequently, diagnose gaps, and implement corrective actions to stay ahead of targets and market shifts.
Market Development and Access: Secure enlistment of new and priority products across hospitals and clinics, opening pathways that expand appropriate use.
Participant Partnership: Build positive relationships with physicians, pharmacists, hospital decision-makers, and other healthcare collaborators to advance evidence-based practice.
Insight Generation: Conduct driven and market analysis to identify growth opportunities, advise brand tactics, and develop local investment decisions.
Promotional Completion: Participate in compliant promotional programs and scientific activities that elevate product awareness and confidence.
Data Field: Maintain accurate customer classification, call plans, and CRM records to enable focused execution and clear reporting.
Standards and Ethics: Demonstrate professionalism and integrity in every interaction, consistently acting within the AstraZeneca Code of Conduct.
Growth Mindset: Identify areas for self-development and collaborate with your First Line Sales Manager to build capabilities that elevate territory performance.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Graduate degree in Science/Pharma
Passion for Sales
Interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
Excellent Communication Skills
Good Planning and Communication Skills
Excellent Scientific knowledge
Ability to develop Strategic Partnerships
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales with consistent target achievement in Tamil Nadu or comparable markets
Established relationships with hospitals, clinics, and key opinion leaders in Madurai and surrounding districts
Experience securing product enlistment/formulary access in private and government institutions
Proficiency with CRM systems and data-driven territory planning
Strong command of local languages alongside fluent English
Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the territory.
