Senior DevOps Engineer (Data/AI)
Introduction to role:
Are you ready to dive into the dynamic world of cloud engineering and machine learning operations? As a Cloud and DevOps Engineer within our MLOps team, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, collaborating with a global network of engineers, architects, business analysts, and project managers. Your mission? To support biologics and antibody drug discovery through cutting-edge technology in our Biologics Discovery Platform.
Accountabilities:
What will you achieve in this role?
- Create secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure for application development.
- Deploy and maintain self-serve engineering platform tools and applications for CI/CD, observability, security, and more.
- Monitor cloud costs and usage patterns to optimize expenses and reduce the CO2 footprint of our applications.
- Align with the central cloud security team to ensure our infrastructure meets enterprise security standards.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance application performance.
- Regularly update infrastructure with minimal downtime.
- Build standardized CI/CD shared pipelines for use across multiple projects.
- Implement infrastructure monitoring and continuously improve availability.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- In-depth experience with setup, configuration, and maintenance of Cloud services.
- Experience with automated deployment tools and the principles of CI/CD using tools such as Jenkins, CloudFormation, CDK, Ansible, Helm, etc.
- Good understanding of containerization and orchestration (K8S experience preferable).
- Experience in cloud design.
- Experience in system maintenance, recovery, and administration across Linux and Windows.
- Basic understanding of database systems (Relational/NoSQL).
- Experienced user of Git with understanding of branching and Git flows.
- Good knowledge of IT Security, particularly how it pertains to running services in the Cloud.
- Scripting experience in Python, Bash or similar.
- Knowledge & experience of Enterprise Identity Management (e.g., SSO, SAML, OpenID Connect).
- Solid understanding of application architectures including Cloud Native approaches to infrastructure.
- Exposure or have worked as a DevOps/SRE/Cloud Engineer in the past.
- Experience in creating and maintaining managed cloud services (virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, File systems, Object stores, databases, etc.).
- Experience working on one of the major cloud platforms.
