IGNITE Transformation & Communications Manager

As a Global IT function, IGNITE accelerates the impact of technology, data and AI to fuel AstraZeneca’s Bold Ambition. The Business Operations and Transformation Team enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of IGNITE by developing and implementing strategies and transformation initiatives that drive operational improvements and optimize processes, ensuring that IGNITE achieves its strategic goals.

We are seeking an IGNITE Communications Manager to join our Business Operations and Transformation Team. This role will be an integral part of our team and pivotal in engaging the entire IGNITE organization, inspiring engagement and cultural change and increasing awareness of and celebration of IGNITE.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspire and Engage: Work alongside the Head of Business Operations and Transformation to craft inspiring messaging that drives the overall IGNITE narrative.
  • Campaign Development: Support the creation and execution of communication campaigns. Provide mentorship and direction on standard methodologies to all IGNITE functions—including Digital Services, Enterprise AI Services, Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Data Office.
  • Communication Tools Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of communication tools, templates, and resources. Identify and address the priority needs for additional materials to elevate the quality of communications driven by IGNITE.
  • Project Engagement: Engage with internal communication campaigns and projects, collaborating with a network of communication leaders to drive initiatives.
  • Recognition and Awards: Support campaigns that highlight IGNITE achievements, including managing the submission of end-of-year nominations for global awards events, to acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of our staff.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • A degree or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience.
  • Background and experience in communication and events
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to demonstrate strong networking and team working skills

Desirable

  • Proven experience in life sciences, healthcare, or other related field
  • Knowledge of technology, data and AI
  • Familiarity with current marketing strategies and effectively using social media to engage with collaborators
