Medical HealthCare Transformation Manager – Oncology
Introduction to role
As a Medical HealthCare Transformation Manager in Oncology, you will be at the forefront of managing our Oncology portfolio and pipeline. You will provide strategic medical insights and contribute to both business and operational planning. Your role will encompass developing and leading a medical team, overseeing the execution of Medical Affairs plans, and integrating clinical insights, customer focus, and clinical governance into our objectives. You will also play a crucial role in pre-launch and post-launch medical plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, external experts, and healthcare stakeholders. This position may also involve managing a specific team.
Accountabilities - What you'll do:
People Management and Development
- Manage, coach, and monitor the direct team performance.
- Support the development of team members in line with business and individual development needs and plans.
- Ensure and monitor compliance by team members and third parties according to Portuguese law and AstraZeneca codes, policies, and standards.
Scientific Management, establish transforming care initiatives and maintain strong relationships with key partners of the healthcare ecosystem
- Lead the scientific and medical strategic contribution in the Oncology setting.
- Identify and partner with national, regional/local Key External Experts (KEEs), healthcare ecosystem stakeholders, and PAGs to build partnerships and develop transforming care initiatives aligned with Oncology AZ strategy and NHS needs.
Contribution to Oncology AZ portfolio/pipeline strategy by supporting cross-functional and regional team(s)
- Design, develop, and manage the medical plan of Oncology AZ portfolio/pipeline, including scientific, medical education, and transforming care initiatives.
- Provide AZ with an understanding of the local medical community landscape, clinical practice trends, and real and/or perceived gaps in current scientific knowledge and medical treatment.
Medical Value – Access
- Participate in Market Access and Medical Affairs meetings, providing customer insights to craft value propositions.
- Contribute to business planning and the Market Access strategy.
Local Evidence and Clinical Research Contribution
- Ensure medical support to the Clinical Operations team.
- Provide strategic guidance and participate as a medical expert and scientific contributor in the design, development, and conduction of the local evidence generation program.
Essential Skills/Experience
- MD, PharmD, or PhD in a scientific discipline
- Strong knowledge of Portuguese national healthcare ecosystem
- Strong and proven leadership skills
- Validated ability to effectively build partnerships, relationships, and collaborate internally and externally.
- Excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in Portuguese and Advanced Level in English
- Excellence in leadership, strategic attitude, project management, internal and external relationship management, analytical/problem-solving skills
