Therapeutic Area Medical Partner - CKD
Therapeutic Area Medical Partner for CKD is Field-based position responsible for developing and enhancing professional relationships with healthcare professionals. Works with Medical Therapeutic Area Lead to develop national strategies for healthcare thought leaders. Responsible for coordinating Medical Liaison activities with sales group.
Typical Accountabilities:
Identifies and engages key customers with scientific expertise and business knowledge of AstraZeneca marketed products and compounds in development
Develops peer-level relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, (KOLs) Key Decision Makers (KDMs), and researchers consistent with Scientific and Medical Affairs strategy and objectives
Identifies pre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators in alignment with the goals of Clinical Development activities and Therapeutic Brand Teams initiatives
Provides actionable information that enhances the value and appropriate use of AZ products to internal stakeholders
Responds to customer inquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of AstraZeneca’s products and services
Delivers appropriate clinical and scientific information that clinically differentiates AstraZeneca products
Sustains expertise in disease state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape
Serves as a member of the assigned Therapeutic Area Core Team and leads initiatives that impact national strategies for a specific therapeutic area
Serves as a member of the Extended Leadership Team and leads initiatives that impact a specific Therapeutic Area and cross-Therapeutic Areas
Works with sales leaders to coordinate Medical Liaison activities and optimize use of resources.
Integrates scientific and medical knowledge from key opinion leaders, brand teams and literature to identify and forecast trends that might impact AZ business across brands
Adheres to internal standard processes and complies with regulatory and compliance requirements
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine or equivalent
4 – 6 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry and at least 2 years as a Medical Liaison
Thorough knowledge of regulatory environment
Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine or equivalent
Established track record of basic or clinical research
Demonstrated expertise in the drug discovery and drug development process
