Territory Business Manager - Chennai
Introduction to role:
Are you set to combine scientific credibility with commercial execution to transform care across your territory? As a Territory Business Manager, you will turn breakthrough science into access and adoption in priority accounts, accelerating the moments when patients receive medicines that change their lives.
This role sits at the intersection of medicine and business, working with cross-functional colleagues to prepare and complete launches. It helps develop evidence-based practice and build long-term partnerships with healthcare facilities and medical centers. You will be trusted as a scientific ambassador who can navigate complex therapy areas and evolving medical practice while delivering measurable growth.
Imagine mapping your territory and securing hospital enlistments. You will also coordinate promotional programs to raise awareness and remove treatment barriers. How will you set the pace in your market from the beginning?
Accountabilities:
Implement sales direction and plan of action in line with company policies to deliver territory objectives from day one.
Performance Management: Monitor territory sales performance regularly, diagnose gaps, and initiate timely actions to keep results on track.
Access to Markets and Enlistment: Assist in the enlistment of newly launched and priority products across hospitals and clinics to expand access.
Competitive Intelligence and Opportunity Identification: Analyze market dynamics and competitors to uncover and prioritize growth opportunities.
Promotion and Education: Plan and participate in targeted promotional programs aimed to improve product recognition and support evidence-based use.
Customer and Data Stewardship: Maintain accurate customer classification, territory database, and logs of telephone communications to drive focused engagement.
Ethical Customer Engagement: Build trust and credibility by acting expertly and within the AZ Code of Conduct at all times.
Continuous Improvement: Discover areas for personal growth and partner with your first line sales manager to build the capabilities that elevate performance across the territory.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Effectively implement sales strategy and tactics, plan of action (POA) in accordance with company policies.
Regularly monitor territory’s sales performance to initiate appropriate actions to ensure performance is in line with objectives.
Facilitate enlistment of newly launched and key products in hospitals and clinics.
Conduct analysis of market/competitors to identify territory business opportunities.
Participate in promotional activity programs to increase product awareness in the market.
Update territory customer classification, database and call records continuously.
Build trust and credibility with customers by demonstrating professionalism acting within the AZ Code of Conduct.
Identify areas for self-development and discuss developmental needs with FLSM.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Track record of exceeding sales targets in specialty care or hospital environments.
Experience securing formulary inclusions or product enlistments within hospitals and large clinics.
Ability to interpret clinical data and translate it into compelling, compliant discussions with healthcare professionals.
Proficiency with CRM systems and territory analytics to plan, measure and optimize activity.
Success collaborating cross-functionally with medical, market access and marketing teams during pre- and post-launch phases.
Familiarity with the therapeutic areas represented in the portfolio and the latest changes in medical practice.
